Demo Days.... there were many.

Who thought we would actually have fun doing this? Demo days! There were many... and the whole family is actually closer because of it.  Here are some pics!

Linda and David removing garage cabinets
demolished by a car....

The dead dishwasher

Josh demonstrating the broken oven!

Stacy and Darren - the kitchen demo crew!

Trey posing in the dumpster. "All the world's a stage!"

Josh, Trey, Chris and Linda. What a team!

Removing carpet required face masks!
Ahhh... the old swamp cooler and white shutters ... gone!

We filled several dumpsters with carpets, kitchen cabinets, old appliances, bathroom vanity tops/sinks, some sub floors, an old swamp cooler, garage cabinets and broken rain gutters, a couple of exterior shutters and a pesky old chimney hiding in the attic. There was a false wall on the west side of the kitchen attached to nothing. We widened the doorway between the kitchen and the living room and removed the old pantry closet.

The chimney was the toughest job of all. It took a crew lowering buckets from the attic and another crew removing mortar and hauling bricks to the basement. We had to save antique bricks original to the house!!! Mom and Dad would be proud.
When Darren and crew removed the soffits we discovered an old chimney
sticking out of the wall and crazy wiring and venting .... so

The attic crew demoed the chimney and lowered the bricks.
David, Sue, Angie, Isaiah and Matt.
It was a messy job for David!

The ground crew removed the mortar and hauled
bricks to the basement for future projects!

Gone!
Crazy youngins'

We saved the brick!
